3D Torso for Medical Application
I had the opportunity to do a 3D Torso for a client who had a serious need for a custom assisted breathing apparatus. The link below is to the YouTube slide show/video I posted showing some of the process.

I assuming you used a scan of the torso for a pattern. What scanning device did you use? Gary

Re: 3D Torso for Medical Application
Thanks for the kind words.
The client actually rented a laser scanned and sent me the 3D file, as he lives in San Francisco. Once I got it and cropped the top and bottom, it was pretty much all Aspire from there. I was a bit intimidated with a $400 sheet of HDU and converting a MM file to Inches, but it all worked out well and I learned a lot along the way that will make the next effort a little better and easier.

Yeah, that's what made it both tense during, and gratifying after!Ms Wolffie wrote:Amazing job Dave.

I touched base with him a week or so back and he is still working on the "perfect" vest. It needs to seal around his Torso with a thick closed cell material so the breathing machine can assist in moving his diaphragm in and out. As you can see from the mould, he is seriously hampered in that ability without assistance.
