Baccarat Board

Here's another commissioned piece that Aspire made possible. Customer asked for a Baccarat board with this design. With the addition of a few simple inlays and some v-carving, we were able to really exceed his expectations. The board is birch, the inlays are walnut. The large card trays are bookmatched. All of the lettering and lines on the board are just v-carved with paint added to highlight them. The logo at the top was v-carved and painted. Size is about 19" x 25".

That looks really good, simple design but so effective with the different wood choices, only thing I would have liked to have seen done differently would be the Logo at the top, personally think the white rectangle around the logo could have been lost.

I didn't really want the white either, but that was part of the design. It also helped to hide some burn marks in the wood. Our new 60-degree v-bit turned out to something less than 60 degrees and dug in on the corners and a few other areas. The bit actually appears to be less than 55 degrees based on running the standard v-bit tests - should have run them before we cut this. I've never had that issue with the CMT laser-point bits before.
