Architectural Models

Post by mezalick »

For a project to redesign the interior of a 1889 Carpenter Gothic Church.
A 3/8” scale model made mostly from Foamcore, pews cut on the CNC from 1/16” white Plexiglas.
All vector work was done in Aspire, some hand cut,, some machine..
When I started making architectural models ( 1970 ) ,,by hand was the only way...

Great looking model, Michael.

The cnc is like a dream. I can also remember cutting out those architectural models. I was in school before fomecore board so we had to use matte board for everything. I have a few scars from those darn exacto knives.

Sadly (perhaps?) the halls of the architectural college I teach at are full of wonderfully details design models, now all cut on a laser cutter and/or CNC. I too have scars from cutting chip board and bass/balsa wood sticks with an exacto knife.
