Angie posted a picture of a variation of the Buffalo Nickel bank so without imposing on that thread I thought I'd post mine.
I decided my grandkids would enjoy something more to their liking so I created the Oreo bank.
One side has a name and the other still says OREO. I kept the original 10" diameter and carved it out of MDF since it has the texture of the cookie when it's painted and finished. The center is poplar cut slightly smaller in diameter with a round over and the base is curly maple. The cut is pretty straightforward and the original image came from this post.

I've only got one done so far with five left to do. Hopefully I'll get them done before another grandkid arrives. Grandpa gets to give them the first gold dollar to put in it too
It's a crappy cell phone picture but you get the idea.

That is a really cool bank! Hope my "memory bank" will help me recall to do this one too!

Re: Oreo Piggy Bank
I hope the folks viewing this are going back and picking up the original file if they don't have it.
I know I saved it a while back and when I got the opportunity I just incorporated it into the piggy bank. At 3" thick it's a heavy bank but still sets well with the base.
I just hope some of the little ones don't try nibbling on it

Ohio... you might cut one from a real large cookie then they could eat it. Dale
