Laser Engraved Aspire2 Grayscale Bitmap

Post by NSchlee »

Here's a quick test I did this morning. Exported a design using the new grayscale export feature in A2, then scaled it down to 300 dpi and laser engraved it, finished size is 2"x3".

With a little tweeking laser engravers should be able to quickly create 3D grayscales for engraving.

NSchlee,
Very nice execution!
I take it, the subject was smoked salmon? :D
How powerful is your laser, and are there many safety precautions
to be aware of with your system?
Thanks for sharing!

Glenn thanks, it's a ULS (Universal) 120 watt 32" x 18" x 8" system. It's configured with 2-60 watt lasers that can be used as one beam or split. Safety precautions are built into the machine thru doors that have interlocks.
