Profile Toolpath issue ? need some help

Post by Gippetto »

Hello,

pls have a look to the object wich i have try to cut yesterday
evening, after a 4 hours running it starts with the profile toolpath and it
failed and destroyed my piece of work.
I know to become an expert you need to make many mistakes.
However i doubt i made a mistake.

My cutter dia 6mm, the dept parameter is 2mm,
the thichness of my work is 22 mm.
so it should run 11 times too cut out.
however it only tried at ones.
so it reuned.

i tried all option start depth , cut depth then calculate but looking to the nc code
its still generated Z21.000, i did it several times again, no luck,
gave it a last try again and then i saw in de nc code entry z2.000 , z4.0000 etc as it should be.
I did get the feeling the profile toolpath is not working properly on changing parameter.

Another experience i have now is, do always generate for each job toolpaths and not for the whole work at once.

This work is the second one i cut with Aspire, i like it a lot, in my previous cut i saw chipping offs but if you look to this one, its perfect, but pitty the profile toolpath jeopardized. it...

currently the job is started again..

who can help me on this..??

Thanks,
Ruud

That looks like a problem with the actual machine rather than anything wrong with Aspire or your toolpaths.

I'd run some test cuts and double check couplings and wiring.

Hello Adrian,

Its in de nc file and not the machine i doubled checked and regenerated several times, the damage is caused by the fact that the Z did 22mm dept and not 2mm steps.
My machine and Elte spindel are not so strong to cut this at ones..
Or do you mean the postprocessor cause it during the translation.

I misunderstood the cause of the cut in your first post.

If you've got the pass depth set to 2mm in the tool setup and the cut depth to 22mm then it should generate 11 passes as you say. Is that what the preview shows?

Which Post Processor are you using? Maybe try it with another one and see if it still generates the same incorrect code? Perhaps the text output one?

Seems strange that it doesn't do it every time though.

Hi Ruud,

kan je je crv-bestand hier posten of het per email aan me sturen ??
is wellicht makkelijker om dan een oplossing te vinden.....

or read my translation

Hi Ruud,
Please post the CRV-file in this thread (or send it by email)
perhaps easier to find a solution....

Did you determine the cause of the original problem?

Hello Randall, John,

The cause not clear yet, as what i try to indicate before, it feels that if you change parameter after you have calculated the toolpath and you change then it will not recalculate properly, this evening will do some test with another project, wich i will mill tomorrow morning.
Will post my findings again..

And John.
I do have two beatifull daughters 13 and 16, and the only kids i want to have now is grandchildren in future.... so i start practise to make beautiful plaquettes at that time.. :P
Is voor een oomzeggertje, this was for my nephew..
Only now i am looking for how to mill this much faster then 5 hours..

Hello, pls see attached picture, i dont know what i am doing wrong,
you can see the dept is at 22mm
you can see the mill is at 2mm pass depth
and you can see the code it generates... its z-22.000

it should be z-2.000

so it confuses me..

any thoughts on this??

Regards,
Ruud

SOLVED,

by removing the toolpath and generate a new one...
I am convinced that the issue is that if you change the cutter depth in an existing toolpath it
will not generate the corrected toolpath sufficient enough.

Ok thanks all, i hope Vectric will check this if its a real small bug.

Kinds regards and thank you all.
