Any tips? I just noticed that those Artcam relief files can not be imported. And I have quite a lot of them. I am just playing with trial and I am going to purchase Aspire before introductory offer expires.

How can I do that? If I open the relief in Artcam pro, I can not save it to any other format than to raster images. Export is not possible either. I think I should ask this from Artcam forum but I bet here is someone who knows how to do that.

Did you send an e-mail to your Artcam pro dealer? Where you bought it they should give you free technical support. You would figure of 7,000 they would answer a few questions from you free of charge.

Ilkka,

In ArtCam you have to create the STL before you can save it. If you got to Relief>Create Triangle Mesh you open up the Mesh Craetor dialog which allows you to create the STL and then save it from there. Fairly starightforward.

Good Luck,

Thanks for your help. I managed to get the file imported. Quality seems to suffer quite a lot.

The quality of any STL from any software is a function of the triangulation tolerance. If you set it to 0.0001" when you create the model you are exporting then you will get something which to the eye/machine will essentially be smooth.
