Lesson in Two Rail Sweeps

In designing a sign I figured out a technique to "precision" fit two shapes together using the two-rail sweep tools. I have attached it here as a pdf lesson in case it might help someone else. Be glad to answer any questions about it. Many thanks to all on this forum who have taught me so much! (Be glad to furnish the .crv3d file if wanted).

Excellent tutorial Fleming and thank you for taking the time to document
the complete process so thoroughly.

We are looking at adding a 'Technical Archive' section to the Forum and this
type of project will be perfect.

Thanks again for sharing your work.

Tony

Thanks for the kind words! :) I actually enjoy technical writing. If there are other topics which may be of help to anyone I'd be glad to take a stab at it. Can't get out to the shop much till winter is over. :(

Hello,
I went through your tutorial and after several mistakes, I managed to compete it, but I would be interested in you posting the .crv3d file.

George,

File is too large to post but I might could send it direct to you. It is my understanding that the new version of Aspire which will be released soon has soon new tools for doing two rail sweeps. What they have added will probably be a lot easier and better!

Youme,
I have sent the Aspire file to your email address as it is too large to post here. Hope it helps. Keep in mind that the Rail Sweep tool has been improved since that lesson.

Hope it helps.

Sorry but that file is "gone" - changed computers several times since that posting. I posted a more up-to-date technique for using 2-rail sweeps to create 3D buildings at:

http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php? ... rn#p180153

All the files for that lesson can be downloaded at my DropBox site:

Good luck.
