Origin of 3d

Post by moto633 »

When I draw some it hovers below the plain in the 3d window is this the bottom of the work piece?

I am just trying to get things going in my mind by playing with the trial before my copy of aspire arrives.

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thanks,
Nick

Here is a pic of what I am trying to describe. The material is set@ 2" so dose the shape originate at the bottom of that point always? In the one pic the cursor is on the flat plane and the florish is hanging below..
This is also before any tool pathing...........
I hope this makes sense..... I am not to savy with this stuff yet

Thanks
Nick

Still not totally sure what the photo's are showing.

I would suggest setting the Z0 Origin on the Material surface and building your designs.

Then when you go to calculate toolpaths the software automatically 'drops' the design
into the material by the thickness of the model. You can then specify how far into the
material the model is positioned prior to calculating the toolpaths.

Does this help?
