Cross hatch onto 3d model in Aspire 4?

Post by lpcsales »

Just discovered the quick engrave function. I see some serious possibilities with this, but I need to find out if it is possible to project the cross hatch tool path onto a 3d model. I don't see an option in the dialog for projection onto 3d model like in all of the other tool path options.
Any help would be very appreciated.

No you can't project onto 3D with that toolpath.

Although you can't map an engrave toolpath to a 3D surface, it wouldn't be hard to replicate what that toolpath does with a couple of line segment arrays, profiling ON the line, and then mapping it to your surface.
