Acrylic LED sign
Acrylic LED sign
Hi guys, I would like to try something like this on the cnc. I have got myself a 10mm thick A5 bit of acrylic. Is this just done with a v bit? to what depths? I would like to do a outline of a deer with some trees behind it.

I've had excellent success with a diamond drag bit. Spindle is off. I cut on the back side, so I flip the design so it appears correct from the front.
There are lots of approaches to this question. Vbits, drag bits, etc.

I did this with a 90 degree v bit.
Milled the base from 3/4 inch oak with 1/4 inch trim.

Try searching the forum as there is already some excellent advice on producing edgelit acrylic panels, diamond drag bits work very well but you can still get good results using a v bit or an engraving bit. Look out for posts by Xxray as he offers some really good advice
