How do you draw a line a certain distance from another line?

I have a diagonal line drawn. I would like a second, diagonal line 0.6" from the first, what is the easy way to do this? I am having to draw the two lines and then get the tape measure, measure it and move it again and re-measure...

Thanks!

One version:
Draw line 1
Ctrl +C to copy
Ctrl + V to paste (line 2 is selected)
M (move) > select relative set distance to .6

If you need the lines to be a certain perpendicular distance apart,
1) Draw a circle with the centre at the end of the line, radius=the separation needed
2) do as Gary said
3) Move the new line until it is tangent to the circle (touching only at one point)
