can't find modeling tools

i opened a 3d file i had, but i can't find the tools under the modeling tab, please advise, thanks

i started a new file and got the tools open.
now i can't close the modeling window even when i click the pin in the upper right hand corner, please advise.

That's not a lot to go on.

Is it a file you can post here?

Otherwise can you post some screenshots of what you're seeing and the steps you took to get to that point?

i closed the program without saving it and now all is fine.
