Bitmat tracing

Post by mezalick »

Greetings,
Is there a way to have the bitmap tracing function NOT create two vector lines when transforming a bitmap design?
Make sense?
Let's try again.
When I import a Bitmap drawing and use the trace function, each line in the drawing is converted to two vectors. The vectors are "outlining" the bitmap line.

I had the problem with Corel but have not had the problem with the Vectric bitmap to vector converter. Can you post an example of the bitmap file and the .CRV after you do the conversion?

Do you mean double lines on top of each other (duplicate vectors) or lines either side of a single line in the original artwork?

If it's the latter then I don't think there's anything you can do about it. Every trace program I've used does that.

hi

it will "duplicate"... i mean trace exactly what is viewable... no "centerline" option...

need manually offseting the lines or select all and "pocketing"....

the program randall mentioning, that has centerline option...

i hope it helps...

thanks

It's the lines on either side of a single line that I was wondering about.

Maybe it can be an option with the next version upgrade?
