Removing the Dish

Post by RoutnAbout »

I have the EGA in the Dish, Its the VA3D format.
I've been able to import it.
Copy it into the working model.
Downloaded the Free EPS Outline. (for the regular model - without the dish)
Scaled and centered the EPS outline to where it lines up with the EGA its self.
Cleared outside selected vectors.
It looks good from looking down the Z, It also looks good in the iso, Until I turn the working model into a Component.
Then I get a jagged wall where I did the cookie cutter.

Has anyone found a way to clean this up?

I'll probably just purchase the regular model in time.

Don- try offsetting your outline by a small amount (.002) and then cookie cut it. I ran into this problem before, and I THINK thats how I fixed it.

Thanks Jason,
I did attempt to offset it. I offset it .005 and then created a large rectagle and did the cookie cutter,
I offset as much as .200" also just to see what would happen.
Had the same results each time.

Hi Don,

By the look of it the whole model is still negative in Z. If you add a plane to it to bring the base up to zero height , if there are any remaining high spots then you should be able to 'cookie cut' them away.
