Cutting area boundry

Post by Monte55 »

Let's say I've have made a two rail sweep. I only want the sweep cut and not the area around the sweep on base material. I know if I manually connect the rails to form a closed vector, it will only cut that area. Is there a quicker way to do it. So far my sweeps have been simple so it hasn't been a real problem. But if I have a carving in the middle of my material that has irregular
outer boundry, and I only want the carving done and not the whole face, is there a simple to outline this or do I have to draw an irregular line by hand to form the boundry?

The irregular boundary vector can be generated by selecting the greyscale component bitmap and then using the fit vectors to bitmap command.
