depth of cut
depth of cut
After setting the depth of cut for a v-carved image to 1/4", I made a test cut and it was way too deep. I reset the depth of cut to 1/8" and received an error message that the bit would cut through the material. What is wrong? My Z location also shows to be at .79. I am zeroing to the top of the material, and the material thickness is .75. I am trying to use a 60 degree v-bit. What do I need to do?

Gary welcome to the Vectric Forum.
You stated that you are trying to VCarve a image. Is your start depth at 0? When you said you entered a depth of cut of 1/4"....where are you entering this? Are you entering a number for the flat depth? Could you attach a screenshot or better yet the actual crv file.
When Vcarving one would normally only choose a flat depth. I'm not quite sure what steps you are taking.
