All I can say is.....

Aspire
as·pire /əˈspaɪər/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uh-spahyuhr]
1. to long, aim, or seek ambitiously;
be eagerly desirous, esp. for something great or of high value (usually fol. by to, after, or an infinitive):
to aspire after literary immortality; to aspire to be a doctor.
2. Archaic. to rise up; soar; mount; tower.

Brian, Mark and James Booth have been at the ShopBot Jamboree in
Austin, Texas where they launched our latest new software product
that is called Aspire.

Although the software is finished we are still working on the web site
and purchasing options, which should be completed in the next few
days. All customers will be emailed information on pricing etc.

Sorry for this delay.

So that people understand what Jim is showing - The fish has been modelled
and machined using Aspire and below are photo's of more projects designed
and cut using Aspire.

More details soon.

Tony

Did the above three images start out as 2d?

Looks like it is going to be some very nice software.

WOW! I want to know more, and sooner rather than later...... :D

I'm surprised that its ready, although I was wondering why the beta testing was still going on! I had thought that maybe something had gone wrong and the software was put back. I had no idea that it was doing what I think its doing from the pics above....
  • Can I go directly from 2D to 2.5D ? :?:
How easy is it to use? :)
How does this fit in with the whole VCP/Cut3D/PhotoVCarve picture? 8)
How much is it going to cost?
Why did you tell the people at the ShopBot Jamboree before the people on this forum?
Is it a 3D modeller which generates toolpaths? :D
Does it generate toolpaths at all or is it for design only? :?:
And just for kicks....does it include the ever illusive 'V-Carve Lathe'? (Sorry Tony, I had to put that in!)
Last but not least...does anyone want to donate a Cnc machine to me since my new one wont be built for another few months and I have no way to try the new software.....

Wow THK... lots of questions there. I'll let the Guys at Vectric answer them, but in the mean time here's a few other things I did. Also a big "cheers" to the wizards at Vectric and JamesB. They've been working very hard to make this project a reality.

From the Shopbot Jamboree

"Brian Moran and James Booth introduced amazing new 3D sculpting and modeling software from Vectric called Aspire. Aspire is a CAD/CAM program for those wanting to create relief carvings. It combines incredible features, a new ease or use for 3D software, and a remarkable low price. It comes with 50 pieces of 3D clip art from James' VectorArt-3D collection. Aspire will be priced at $2,000. But will have an introductory price of $1,750 until the end of the year. For owners or PartWorks or V-CarvePro the introductory price will be $900. (Available today from ShopBot for PartWorks owners.)"
