Modelling holes

Post by gkas »

I recently finished modelling a pair of scissors. The basic shape was created with Create Shape. I just noticed that when I use the 3Dclip, the finger holes do not get cleared when I use the Model Boundary of the Finish Toolpath. I can get around that by vectoring around the scissors and removing the vectors inside the finger holes. What is a good way of 'creating' the holes so that they are part of the model? A thin base? Something with the zero plane?

Gerry,

You might try "Replace values below Z with a plane"
Set "Replace Value Below" to .001.
Set "Replace Value with" Transparent
Bake the component and re-save a 3Dclip file.

Gerry,

I understand now.....

"Create a shape from vector outlines" using the two vectors that make the holes in the handles. Put in a base height of .001
