Halloween Is Around the Corner

Post by TReischl »

Working on my modeling again today. SWMBO suggested I do a pumpkin and she will paint it and put it out by the front door. Sounds like a deal to me!

If anyone is interested in having the file, here it is:

As usual, this is my original work and you are free to use it however you please.

Thank you for all the stl files you share.
What bit do you recommend to cut that with.
Thanks again.

That depends on the size you cut it and how far away it is intended to be viewed from.

When I do it for the front door area I will probably cut it about 10 inches tall, raise it up a bit from the base (set a base height) and give it a try with a .25 ball nose. That model is lots of smooth and very few sharp edges so I don't think using a smaller bit at that size would be an advantage. If I am not happy with the crispness then I will pull out the carving tools and do a bit of touching up and undercutting.

Thanks again.

Thanks John and Ed.

My focus these days is on modeling and I see no reason not to share what I do with everyone else.

I am wondering how long it will be before one of the internet pirates steals this stuff and tries to sell it like they have done with some of Michael Tylers stuff. I recently saw his key ring holder being sold on the big auction site for like $3.

AHAH! SANTA!

I have been sitting here the last few days thinking of what I would like to do next that would help in this quest to learn 3D modeling. Perfect! Then I can get into a simple candy cane, bells, all sorts of stuff.

On top of it all, Christmas is my favorite holiday!

Pumpkin in a dish :D
Need to tidy things up a bit then decide on a finish.
Had to move this one up in the queue as the season is fast approaching
