Inserting (non-keyboard) ASCII characters in Text

I need to insert the circular degree symbol in Aspire text. ASCII code for this symbol is 186. How do I do it?

Easiest way is to use the Windows Character Map program that you can find on your Start Menu under Windows Accesories. You can cut and paste any character you like that way directly into the Text tool.

Other ways are to use Alt+number keypad (type out the ASCII code on the keypad while holding down Alt) or, if you know which standard character it's a special character of you can use the Alt Gr key and press the relevant key.

Find the Character Map app in Windows. Choose your font, and find the degree symbol (6th row on my screen in Times New Roman). Click on it, hit Select, then Copy. Then paste it in Aspire.

Hold down the Alt key while typing the ASCII code on the num pad.

Just a side 186 gives me two vertical bars ║ 248 is what I use for the degree symbol °

Hold down the ALT key and type 248. °

Note than some fonts do not contain all symbols.

The official degree symbol is (ALT)0176 using the numeric keypad. Be sure to use all four digits.
