Post by fordtman »

I have created a single sided model and want to create a double sided model from is i.e. a reverse mirror image of the single sided model. Can anyone enlighten me please. I have done it before but cannot remember how (I am old). :( :D :?

There's a couple of ways you can do it. Make sure you are in a Double-sided Job setup. Make sure the model is centered, then right click and copy to other side. Go into the Modeling tab and adjust the shape height under Component Properties. Under the component tab, ADD a Tab level and a Zero plane level. In the Zero Plane put a negative number to adjust for the amount of undercut. The Tab level you can add tabs from the clipart.

Another way is after you have doubled it and adjusted the thickness, export the model out as a stl file. Then import it again and the Component setup with the Levels will already be in place.

Or, create the model in a two sided job setup as Gary stated.

Do a control-c to copy the model. Flip over to the reverse side, and paste the model. Then do a vertical mirror.

Thanks guys. I tried all the suggestions and they all worked perfectly. I have recorded them in my Alzheimer's file so I won't forget again, I just have to remember where my Alzheimer's file is. Thanks again.
