I have noticed a lot 3d models bought on the cheap from countries of the former USSR are created insanely large.
I realize they can be shrunk down to fit, that is not my question.
I can only think of the negatives associated with modelling on a large scale.
1 file size large;
2 increase saving time while creating the model;
3 increase saving time while editing the model;
4 beefier computer RAM, video board, etc ;
5 increased toolpath calculation time;
6 increased toolpath simulation time;
So is it easier to draw it large that makes up for all the above negatives?
It doesn't make any sense to since you can dynamically zoom up and down the model.
Just wondering and would appreciate any insights and thoughts on the matter.
