Downloaded FlutePlus (20140322) gadget and tried running it in VCP 8 & 9 and Aspire 9 and 9.5.
I'm always getting a Script does not start with "--VECTRIC LUA SCRIPT"
Any solution for that?
Any other way to create movement along a x-y path by a vector z-reference? The new "Turn and Spin" option seems to have all the power to do so, but not the simplicity to do it in just one a straight x-y line,...
I'm trying to cut a 3D shaped hollow object in two parts. I need the cutting depth to follow the surface contour of the object varying from 0 to 5". I have the profile outline vector of the object and just need a straight cut across following that z-profile.
Thanks!

I think that you will need to use the fluting toolpath.

If you can't do it with the standard fluting toolpath then you will need to get in touch with Paul Rowntree to get an updated version of the gadget that works with the latest version. According to the website the last update of the gadget was in 2014 and there have been changes to the gadget interface since that will stop a gadget that old from working.

FlutePlus? Aspire cutting along a Z-vector
if i recall accurately, i experienced similar. again if i recall, based on e-mail communication with paul, it turns out my usual browser (set wtih privacy protection/ad blockers etc.) was the culprit. using a out of the box MS Edge browser (or what was then the usual unprotected/unprotecting equivalent) to download the file resulted in a file that worked.
Re: FlutePlus? Aspire cutting along a Z-vector
I did message Paul.
For the Fluted Toolpath I would need to project the toolpath on the actual shape, which I do have as a vector (in coreldraw) but not as a 3d STL model (Still trying to get a go at other software).
I will try again to download the file using a different browser.
Thanks for the advice!

Yes Indeed!
Got it to work downloading it with a different browser.
Still works with Aspire 9.5.
Now lets see if it will do the trick.
Thanks!

Hi StefanV
Glad you got it to run; the code should be sound. I am working on an upgrade to add more bells & whistles, but it sounds like it should do what you want. I believe there is an example similar to that in the files, where you cut the inside and the outside of a bowl.
I didn't see an email/message though ... how and where did you send it?
Cheers!
