Guitar stool/stand

Post by rscrawford »

I was commissioned to make a guitar stool/stand out of walnut and maple. He had very specific demands!

I used my delta lathe beside my Cobra to make the legs, and made a youtube of the process.

All the joints are mortise and tenon.
Double tenons in the legs for strength, 1.25" deep and 10 degree taper

James Taylor would have LOVED and been PROUD of that at the "No Nukes" Madison Square Garden, when he waked out on stage with just a stool and his guitar.....AFTER LOUD bands prior.
Ya coulda heard a pin drop on the long walk, settling in, and final tuning......and it was a ROWDY crowd!!

Do you ever get tired of hearing "An Elegant piece of Craftsmanship...Well Done!!!" ?
Consider it said again....LOVE it!! :)
(Especially seat...BOTH sides!)

Your setup with the lathe is very clever indeed and your workmanship is impeccable. However, coming from you I would expect nothing less.
