I saw the Vintage Candlestick Clock Phone project, by Michael Tyler, on the free projects site and am getting ready to make one. Here is an update on the clock insert. Klockit discontinued the 3 3/16" clock inserts (md 15706 &15708). I found http://www.Ronellclock.com has the 3 3/16" inserts. Md MF-302WA & MF-302VA. Just an FYI.
Michael Tyler uses a .125 ball nose bit that seems quite long to make the cuts. Does anyone know the length and source for that bit?

Yes. Klockit has a “bad habit” of discontinuing and/or replacing their clock insert models. We just have to find appropriate “new models” that will work, when they discontinue the originals.
If memory serves, I used the #BDP002 1/8” Ballnose Cutter from beckwithdecor.com
You can use any 1/8” Ballnose of your choice (as long as it is long enough for the job). I also have a CarveWright 1/8” Ballnose that I could have used instead.
