After reviewing the modified file, it looks like the bit used on the male cutout had been corrupted with inaccurate data. (the 1/8th in endmill that I had there originally)
I fixed the bad spec data and the simulation works fine.

Sometimes, tiny details such as a bad parameter on a bit spec is hard to notice.
