Help with vectorizing a signature

Hello Friends,

I have been commissioned to carve a sign for the owner of the grand ole opry. This sign will be at one of Gaylord Entertainment properties that is frequented by country artist that like to hunt and fish. one of the design requirements is to have a carving of the signature of "little Jimmy Dickens". I was given an image of the signature but for the life of me i cannot properly vectorize this signature from the image given.

Can someone please help me get a clean vector of the attached signature? I would be so thankful if someone could help me out with this.

Thanks in advance for your help. all is need is the "jimmy Dickens" not the word thanks.

You might want to clean it up just a bit.

If you have a higher resolution or bigger image than you provided you could get better results.

That’s what I’m wanting but it’s doing the same as my vector effort is doing. When you look at the actual vector it doesn’t have straight lines. I’m trying to find a method that I can use in photoshop to do this.

If you are looking for smoother lines I would going in and node edit the vectors. Smoothing curves and adding Bezier curves will improve the flow dramatically.

Just create a new layer, and trace over it with the curve tool, then edit the nodes to your liking.

I used Corel Draw with centerline trace. Then touched it up a little with the node edit mode in Aspire..

Have you tried using the Trace Bitmap tool in Aspire for this as it should give some clean vectors around text like this and is quite configurable.

The centerline trace in Corel Draw produces just a single line vector so after importing the .dxf into Aspire I just used the profile toolpath with a v-bit. I tried using the trace bitmap in Aspire but the results wasn't as clean and required a lot more editing. Corel Draw is a vector program so creating vectors is relatively easy.
