Hi Everybody,
I did a rather silly thing.... I saved an Aspire file into a programme file that could be read by my CNC machine.... then, by mistake, I deleted the original Aspire file without saving it...Is it possible to recover the Aspire file from the machine file ?
Hope for some kind person to tell me if this is possible.
Soapy
Recovering a file written for Aspire
Re: Recovering a file written for Aspire
Are you talking about the G-code file? I can get a dxf file back from the G-code..

It is possible for simple jobs but for anything like VCarving, 3D etc it's a lost cause I'm afraid. Even with the simpler profile type cuts you have to remove the movements and multiple passes from any file you generate from G-code and offset the vectors to allow for the fact that the code is based on the tool centre not the vector centre.

Thanks Adrian,
I rather suspected that it was rather a lost cause..... but I fell it was worth a try.
This incident will teach me to be a bit more methodical with my system of work
Its not the end of the world... just wasted a lot of time by being in too much of a rush

check your trash can just to make sure, pretty sure the files are permanently deleted directly from Aspire but worth a look anyway
