how to use Napali fonts in Aspire 9 text box

Post by jssussex@gmail.com »

I'm trying to use some Napali characters in the text box, I have the proper fonts loaded - I can see them in Word pad so I know windows understands the font and can display it. I hate to do this through another format and convert text to vectors. ANy clue how to get this to display correctly in Aspire.

Below is the text

Is the font either a TrueType or OpenType font?

As far as I know, the font should display correctly as long as the font is TT or OT

Is Napali right to left like Hebrew? If so then this link will be of interest - http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php? ... 8&p=136187

Yes they are true type fonts. That's why they display in these messages and in word pad. I can't find anything in the aspire help file to explain this. I downloaded the foreign language font so that's not the issue.

This is what I get. the font is a Napali font.

The file attached ("Nepali test text.zip") has the text you provided using a typeface called "Nirmala UI". That typeface is included with my generic Windows 10 install.

There are 3 layers:

1. text object that may not display if you don't have Nirmala UI typeface installed (shown in red)
2. text converted to curves (shown in grey)
3. curves welded to eliminate overlaps (in blue)

I arbitrarily chose 1/2 inch as the text height.

Thanks that font worked. Not sure why the other didn't.

I expect it is a mapping problem.

The Devanāgarī characters as typed and displayed in the text entry field might be in a different position in the "AMAA NETWORK CONSULTANT..." typeface you are trying to get to work.
