Hi,
I have a customer looking to see if I can v-carve lettering on the 'name board' on the curved surface of the stern of his wooden boat. I don't know where to start....
Thank you,
Larry

Larry,
Is this name board a separate part you can load on your machine?
Is it an existing part or one you'll have to cut?

You are going to need an extremely high Gantry to be able to get a boat under it, especially standing on its end with the stern up
As LGM says does the board come off & will it fit on your machine ?
You need to be able to figure out the curve on the board so you can reproduce it, ideally something like a touch probe is what you want so you can map the old board if it will fit on your machine.
Not sure if this would be an option for you but there is a similar thread going on here

I'd like to see a pic of the board. I would model the board to the correct size and curve and if you are close the V carve should look fine. Being deep in the middle and shallow on the ends probably wouldn't look bad...
