Question on free monthly projects

I have not yet upgraded to Aspire 9, short of funds. I understand that if I download the trial version I can then run the free projects from the Christmas projects but cannot make any changes to the file. Would I be able to make changes to the tool paths based on my machine? Also would I be able to open a later project that may catch my eye?

Not all the free projects work with the trial version but for those that do you can certainly change the toolpath settings to match the capabilities of your machine.
