What causes this

What causes a rough cut on the left edge that you can even see on the preview attached?

Use Vector Validator in the Edit Object section of the Drawing tab. Looks like you have some over lapping vectors on the left side.

You might also post the file for additional help.

How did you create it to start with ?

If you started with a bitmap trace or create model from selected bitmap then it is likely that has caused some errors, if that is the case then just create it from scratch or at least those bits that are causing problems :lol: :lol:

If you could post the actual file, or a link to the file on Google Drive or DropBox, that would really help others diagnose the actual issue instead of just taking guesses.

Aspire and VCP use the center of the tool when calculating toolpaths, you are trying to project a vector onto the surface of a component that is actually outside the component on the left side. Using the Create Vector Boundary comes really close, but it's not perfect.
Create your boundary then resize to 99.4% and recalculate.
