Connection not secure

When I try to log into the forum, I am being told that the link is not secure and I enter at own risk.
Why is that, please>

Because the site uses http instead of https. They don't have a security certificate, or aren't using it if they do. Any site where you can input information should be "secure". Down the road later this year Google is making it "mandatory" to use https on any site where you can enter information, or they are going to throw a big, red NOT SECURE wording up in the address bar.
