I have a question about setting up a finish pass with a .125 ball nose bit. I have it set to do a offset cutting. The part is a circle with the inter part of the circle cut out like a big donut.
When I simulate the cut, the cut starts in the middle of the ring not at one of the sides, I would thing it should start at the inside and cut outward or start at the outside edge and cut inward.
I did do a test cut and it did it just like the simulates shows
If I use the ball nose and just do a finish cut on a circle with no hole in the center the ball nose starts in the center and cuts all the way to the outside edge.
And ideas what going on, would like to be able to finish the ring with it cutting from the inside to the out side.

Re: Ball-nose Finish Question
If you are constraining a finish pass with one vector then, yes, it would start at "the center" and work out. But as you are using two vectors it works toward one vector then the other---I've never seen a way to counter that.
For the single vector option I'd like to choose between inside to outside and outside to inside.
