Help with Raised Text on a Background

Post by dcruze »

I am using Aspire 8.517.

I have been trying carve a plaque with raised text laid over a background model, but I am having trouble figuring out how to keep the text from dipping into the grooves in the background. If you look at the attachment you can see what I mean in the "C" in Cheers.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

A guess...

Is your text a merged 3D component? If so, try adding Base Height to the text. You want the merged text to be raised above the textured background, so experiment with different Base Heights until it has the appearance you want. (It appears your text is in "Add mode". As such, it will conform to the dips and valleys of your texture. Change it to "Merge" and assign Base Height.)

If we could access the actual file itself, we can tell instantly what needs to be done for sure.

Yes, that did the trick. Changing from Merge to ADD and adding Base Height. Thanks so much.

Glad you got it sorted.

I think you meant you changed from "Add" to "Merge"
