I have an STL model of a skull that I scaled down in size to be about 5" x 5" x 7" using the free version of Netfabb. Resaved a new STL. I then took this resized skull into Windows 3D Builder to slice it into 8 pieces so I can try the 2-sided machining on it. I now have 8 separate STL from 3D builder, all scaled to about 1" thick. So the size remains about the same as the original resized model if I were to stack the slices one on top of the other.
The problem I'm now having is when I try to bring any of the slices into Aspire, the model dimensions are not what they were in the other 2 programs (about 5" x 5" x 7") or 1" thick per slice. As you can see from the attachment, one of the slices upon import reads 200.4"x X 84.8"y X 18.8"z ???
If I try to resize in Aspire, as there are 8 separate files, the resizing would not be consistent across all files and the slices will not glue up right.
What do I have to do for Aspire to ensure that the dimensions are the same as in the STL file?
Thanks for any ideas anyone may have.

Can't help with the sizing issues but just wondering why you didn't just import it straight into Aspire & then resize & slice it in Aspire

You likely have Netfabb (or 3D Builder) set to export in mm instead of inches. Click the Scale mm/inches button and type in your desired value(s).
For more info on resize conversion from mm to inches (or reverse), see the following:

If you pick a value on one of the axis and type in the value what you want with the axis locked ....the system will scale the STL to that dimension

Thanks...I will try these suggestions.
Did not do directly in Aspire as model has too many undercuts and it looked terrible in Aspire. That's why I sliced in other software.

Re: Maintining Scale on STL Import
OK...got it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
As Netfabb is the free version, I cannot change any export settings BUT I did make sure in Aspire model orientation to lock the axis and chose one axis, the "x" in my case, and chose a factor, "x/30=" in my case and did this to all slices and now I believe it'll work just fine.
Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction.
