Oh, never mind. You Cannot import a 3dclip file into VCP. Joe would have to save the model as STL for you to be able to import it and take a look.
I can't even spell STL, but will try and see what happens. I did save as clipart will that not let him open ion VCarve? Will see...joe

Hi Joe. No, VCP cannot import a 3dclip file.

Convert the STL to a ZIP file

In Windows:
Right-click on the filename
Select Send To
select Compressed (zipped) folder

VCarve Pro, latest version, can do it too.
Here's how: (Rough description, I may have left out some steps.)
Select the flat rectangle in the Clip Art Tab.
In the Modeling tab, select the change properties, dimension and locate the rectangle to provide the surface for a pocket. Tilt as required for the slope.
In the drawing tab, draw a vector within the rectangle that represents the outline of the desired pocket.
Select the rectangle and vector, and array copy to get enough pockets.
Select, rotate and move the pockets and vectors to the desired locations.
Run the 3D toolpaths to rough and finish all of the pockets with the pockets and vectors selected and the Machining Limit Boundary set to Selected Vectors.

Here's my results for a quick attempt.

But it can import multiple clip art models from the ones supplied with the program.

You could pocket out the profiles to a uniform .5" deep, then use the same vectors on another board to cut some inserts that drop into the holes.
The inserts can be cut into wedges at a band saw and then sanded smooth to end up 3/8" at the small end and 0" at the big end.
Glue them into the CNC'd holes. Made from the same wood I doubt anyone will figure out what you did. ;)

Only the v3m file versions!!

It is intentional that VCP cannot import or use 3dclip files.
