Is it possible to import a 3D model .stl file found on Thingiverse.com into Aspire V9? I attempted to import a model to trim a small edge off the model so it would fit in the printing envelope of my 3D printer. Everything seems to progress as normal until I click ok on the Orientate 3D Model page.

Unless it's a very simple shape with no undercuts, side holes etc then Aspire is the wrong program to edit it in as those features won't be preserved for 3D printing.

Re: Import Thingiverse stl file into Aspire V9 Problem
Thanks for all the responses.
In response to "what happens" --
When the model is first imported it appears as a normal 3D model on the Orientate 3D Model page. I have attached a screen shot of the modeling page that opens after clicking ok on the Orientate 3D Model page. What appears is a flat rectangle that looks like a thin piece of material. I thought if I would scroll in and out that I see something more but there is nothing else to be seen.
Aspire not the right application --
Thanks for the reply about Aspire not being the best application to use to trim the part. Do you have a recommendation for a better application to use to trim/modify a3D model?
I really appreciate the feedback.

Check the scale to make sure it's not just really tiny. Click the Center Model in case it's off screen somewhere.
The two images show what I mean about Aspire and 3D. It's designed for 3 axis CNC machines that can't create models in the same way as a 3D printer can so if you use it to edit then you're going to lose information on some models. It can certainly be used for a lot of 3D printed stuff but it depends on what it is.
For 3D printing (I have a Zortrax M200) I use Aspire, OpenSCAD, Sketchup and other software depending on what I'm making.

Wow! I see what you mean about what happens.
Thanks for the feedback and the list of applications.
