Would imagine it could be lots of different programs, Aspire will more than likely do that sort of work, the first picture for sure, the other 2 I don't have enough experience with it to say

Yes, Aspire might be able to, but you would have to feed the 3D curves information to it. That is what I'm trying to find out. The source of the 3D curves.

This kind of design may be a grey scale conversion of a 2D image.
So it will be very difficult to find what software is able to generate these 2D drawings, except if somebody on the list recognizes a typical pattern.

Re: Know what software was used to generate these?
Photos #2 and #3 were made with multiple layers of color wood laminates. The pattern of vectors used to create the negative 3d model should be well within Aspire's capabilities. The color laminates in #2 makes this look much more complicated than it really is. This laminated wood is used in making some popular rifle and pistol stocks and turned pen blanks.

CorelDraw has fills like "swirl" and "mask" that look similar. Import as bitmap and convert to component, then carve in a plywood type material.

This is another fill called "epidermis."
Probably any good drawing program will have similar texture fills.

I know this isn't a Corel board, but I'd like to set something like this up in Aspire. I have CorelDraw but don't use it enough to be proficient. How do you set up these fills?

Re: Know what software was used to generate these?
Click the "Fill" tool bucket and select the "texture" fill from the fly-out.
That will give thousands of possible fills.
