Your allowed to ask one question during the life of the software, since you have just asked a question that's your support finishedTSM2018 wrote:Hi, I am a new user. How long do I have for software support?

Seriously there isn't a time limit as John says, Vectric are a very helpful Company, I have phoned them a number of times as I am in the UK & it's easier for me than email. Then there is the forum where you can ask as many questions as you want at anytime. Best thing is no one will ridicule you no matter how silly you think the question may be
Re: General Questions about Aspire Support
I believe there has been over 200,000 questions asked and answered on the forum......Ok, so many may have been mine but Vectric will prove to be the BEST software company you may have ever dealt with. If the users don't know the staff will.
Now if they could just make me taller or better look'en......

Vectric responds very well to just about any way you contact them. They are an awesome company. As far as I know, there are no time limits. Best of all, there is no fee or charge for it.

Re: General Questions about Aspire Support
I am old enough to remember these huge volumes of printed materials that you got when you spent money on software, so is there any printed materials for rookies? At least Short Cut keys? I'm going to have to set up two monitors, so I can watch the video, then switch to a different window to practice on aspire, or set up the laptop and desktop... I've got a piece of scrap masonite... going to see if I can import a dxf, and generate a tool path...
When I made the decision to purchase aspire, there was a side by side comparison for the features.
When I look at the online tutorials, the "beginners" tutorials all have as an example the Wing Spar tutorial in my quick review for . Is that the best place to begin is the beginners tutorials?
or,,, do I start with cut 2D and then progress through more advanced techniques. I am interested in tapping into the experience of the group in learning how to approach the magical world of CNC-ing.
Thanks for the replies - and someday long into the future, I am definitely planning to give back to the vectric community! I'm so excited, I want to stay up late, and I am waking up to the thoughts of using my CNC.

Re: General Questions about Aspire Support
Look on the Help menu. As Randall has shown the Shortcut Keys are on there and there is also the Help Contents which is the interactive version of the volumes of printed materials. You can click on the screen shots on the first page to drill down to detailed help about that particular item or click the Single Page link at the bottom and read it end to end like a book. There's also a PDF link so you can print it out as well.TSM2018 wrote:I am old enough to remember these huge volumes of printed materials that you got when you spent money on software, so is there any printed materials for rookies? Ask away.
Keep in mind that this is a user group, not Vectric Staff - though Vectric Staff DOES participate from time to time, and yes they are very friendly and very helpful, hopefully we are also. There is a LOT of talent in here.
Ask away - the more questions the better - lots of other folk are reading and have the same question, but they don't ask - your questions will help them also.

Re: General Questions about Aspire Support
I printed the intro to CNC and then each product details and comparison chart - in combination with the aspire v9 pdf that another forum participant requested, I think I now have the printed items I need to gain my bearings. Yesterday was a not terribly productive watching the video tutorials; I definitely need a second monitor for this learning experience - will contact my tech expert to set me up with two monitors for a while, then I can watch, pause and use Aspire at the same time.
I have a huge mental list of things I want to create.

Re: General Questions about Aspire Support
There is no time limit I asked James a question at the Aspire meeting back in 2012 and still havn't come up with the answer. Could never figure out why a Photo V Carve litho would take a lot more time to render when I set the zero to The bed instead of the material.

I would caution you to be careful on dual monitors.TSM2018 wrote: I definitely need a second monitor for this learning experience - will contact my tech expert to set me up with two monitors for a while, then I can watch, pause and use Aspire at the same time.
Once you try dual monitors you will never want to go back to one.

Re: General Questions about Aspire Support
The forum is most useful, and active community. Yesterday I found this lovely 4th axis Youtube link and the user was using a jet lathe. I cannot find that link. Except for commenting on the post, which I unfortunately did not comment, I don't know how I found it... Is there an ability to "bookmark" posts in the forum?
