I need help adding a component over top of another component. In the attached photo I want to add a solid strip on top of the microphone. The microphone is the golf ball component from the clipart folder. I built a strip component with the 2 rail sweep but when I place it over the microphone I can't make it look like a strip because the microphone dimples show through. How do I place the strip component over the microphone to look like a solid band?
TIA

Re: Adding a Component over top of a Component
just off the top of my head I would make a copy of component 1 (the strip).
Alter that copy to make it a little smaller so that it sits just under the strip.
There is a tutorial about this concerning a banner with a similar problem. Can't remember the name I'll see if I can find it.
Merry Christmas to all

Re: Adding a Component over top of a Component
I would make a narrow band using the two rail sweep. The cross section vector would be similar in shape of the "non dimpled" golf ball (microphone) contour, but a little taller and wider than the ball contour/cross section. Then just merge it with the golf ball. The band will rise above and extend a little beyond the width of the ball (if made correctly).

Re: Adding a Component over top of a Component
Something like this....
Used Michael's suggestion. To get the correct contour I created a toolpath preview, clicked on the Y view, copied the image (using a screen capture program), saved the image. I then imported the bitmap and used the trace bitmap tool to get the correct contour. Created the 2 rail sweep using the contour. A few adjustments for height and with of the component and it's done.
