issue with toolpath tiling

Post by SteveM »

I had my first attempt at toolpath tiling today. I thought everything seemed to go well until I got to the second tile and was starting my profile path to actually cut out parts.

I am building some shelves and I am using a full sheet of plywood. My tiles are 41" feeding through the Y direction. I have already cut tile 1 with all of the toolpaths and had no issues. I cut some dado grooves and tongues, screw holes and shelf pin holes on tile 2 without issue. I think the problem is related to the toolpaths that are shared between the two tiles. I am using Mach 3 to run my CNC.

When I load the toolpath, it immediately loads to a line well below the usual line 1. The status says "Zero radius arc. Block=N270G2X1.7500Y23.500010.2500J0.2500" pic attached. I thought maybe the file was corrupted and tried saving it again but had the same result. For profile cuts, I generally have a rough cut and also a final cut using a diamond bit. I had the same issue attempting to run both toolpaths.

Hopefully the issue will be an obvious one. thanks

Check the vectors at that position (X 1.75, Y 23.5) as I've seen posts in the past about that error and it's usually because of an error with the vectors themselves, crossovers, loops etc.

Adrian,

I checked the file but I don't see anything out of the ordinary. There are no overlapping vectors or anything. It looks like the sharp corner of the bottom left end of my cabinet.

Would it help to upload the file or would the tiles still show?

The file size is 3583kb and apparently, I am restricted to 3Mb.

For those interested, I sent the files to Vectric and after testing, they responded that it was an issue within the software. A fix will be in the next update. thanks Vectric!
