I'm in my infancy of modeling. I can model a straight or curved snake, but the coils throw me for a loop. Is there a particular training video that would help with this? I'm not concerned with the markings.

Re: Modeling a coiled snake
Thinking out loud but would a single coiled vector and the extrude modeling tool work for the body? I'm sure others will provide a response.

Re: Modeling a coiled snake
For me to extrude and weave the entire snake as one item did not produce the design as I thought it should be.
Instead, I made the snake out of 4 vectors, then used the extrude and weave, with some other slight adjustments to each of the four components.

Re: Modeling a coiled snake
Using only 1 drive line for the whole snake, I assume that he will tie himself into a knot.
Is there a easy way to develop your center driveline on something like this snake.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Re: Modeling a coiled snake
I would think Michael simply drew those vectors for the drive rails, probably not what you want to hear but taking the time to learn to use the drawing & node editing tools is the easiest way to achieve some things

I'm reasonably proficient at node editing and drawing, just always looking for a smarter, easier way.

Re: Modeling a coiled snake
Yes, if you use the weave option with a single rail, it will make a really un-snake-like knot.
