toolpath tiling

Post by aroff »

I have a large project, that because of the tap file size requires tiling
But
The project is not going to be moving after each tile tap file
it will remain stationary
Have tried a couple of trys but it keeps acting like it has to be moved

What next

Thought about making two boxes. Each overlapping and make two paths. One for each box

Ideas

Look into "tape splitting" rather than tiling

thank you so much for recommending the tape splitting
had heard about it but looked intimadating
adding a command line to the post processor is great
just have to keep in mind the line total in the tap file
otherwise you'll end up like my first test
56 tap files
900000 lines of code, so changed command to 400000 each and worked great

thank you
