I am new to cnc and learning Aspire is been challenging and addictive. My uncle is a POW and I am trying to make a POW 3d sign for the VFW to raise money for local chapter. I was wanting to make a 3d head tower insert in sign but can't get everything below the surface. Tried to put zero plane in but don't know if done correctly. If I can master the 3d part I can vcarve the letters. Just trying to give back to loved ones and learn Aspire.

Don,

Sorry to hear about your uncle.

It's hard to see in my picture, but the head, tower and barbed wire are sitting in a dish below the surface of the plaque.

Yes head tower and wire are suppose to be recessed in dish. Sorry for confusion.

Some of the tower head and wire are still above plane. I have watched 2 or 3 videos on "zero plane". Don't know what I am doing wrong?

Your trying to run before you can walk

I am sure John will help further with this project but once this is done I would seriously consider going back to the very start & working your way up slowly starting with less complex projects

Bit like Maths, don't attempt advanced calculus Until you have learnt to add, subtract multiply & divide

Martin thank you for reply.
I have been learning Aspire for the better part of 6 months and I know that I am not the expert that you are but I have found that pushing myself is the only way I can learn. If there are online classes that I can take I would LOVE to. This is the only way that I know how to learn is to image it and try to create it.

I know how to add and subtract.

Don,

Re-download the POW 3D.crv3d file from my Dropbox. I think you'll like this version better. I wasn't really happy with the head so I changed it.

Hang in there with modeling, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm just learning this stuff.
