Hi my latest fret board inlays cut in two parts an outer and an inner using a 1/32" cutter.
used the inlay toolpath never been a fan of v cut inlays.
Used hot melt glue for holding material down and heat gun to release.

Thanks for the comments I was trying to copy prs guitars there inlays are multi coloured

Hey Art, I know this thread is a bit older, but I'm also doing fretboards on the CNC, are learning to at least. Can you clarify some things for me? You use a hot glue gun to hold down the material you are cutting and then a heat gun to release it after the cut is complete? And what are those two different materials you're using to get the contrast? It looks beautiful. Thanks! Josh

Did you use a bit made specifically for mother of pearl?
Fret boards normally have an arch. Did you install the bats and sand both the bat and the fret board? Or did you put an arch in the bat while cutting it ou?
