Post by johnwn »

I have to buy a more powerfull computer that will keep up with a Mach 3 tool path. my existing tower runs out off data. can anyone recommend a good one? Windows 10 seems to be installed on all the new computers. does this work fine? I no mine is 64 bit but old. Thanks

What spec is your old computer ? You shouldn't really be having a problem with mach3 files, they don't require a particularly high spec machine
Are you sure your not using the demo version of mach3 which will only read 500 lines of code.

Sounds like a connection issue with your motion controller.
I'm running Mach3 on a 1Ghz Pentium III, and don't have any problems with it.

That's a Smoothstepper issue, not a PC issue. A new PC won't likely help.
You might want to ask on the Warp9 forum, and see what they have to say.

Your computer is more than sufficient to run Mach3. Unplug all connections and re-seat them to make sure you have good electrical contact. If your problem persists follow ger21's suggestion and contact the manufacturer.
