Advice on exporting DXF from Illustrator

Post by Dadders »

Hi,

Please can someone help me.

When I export a DXF from Illustrator and import into Aspire and create a tool path the lines in the design break apart.

I currently export the DXF from Illustrator as AutoCAD Version R13/LT95 should I not use this setting?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Have you tried saving as earlier versions? Not sure what version would export the best as I always export from the vector based software I use as EPS.

Exporting as EPS will generally give you a cleaner file with far fewer nodes than DXF

I've had good luck with R12 imports - a fairly generic version. I THINK R12 is the version that Vectric products use for exporting DXF files from Aspire and VCP.

Aside...I also have good luck with AutoCad 2004 DXF version (for a different software though...I don't recall trying importing AC 2004 DXF into Vectric software)
