v9 won't open a project after it has been saved
Ok, so I got v9, I immediately opened a file from 8.5 made a quick change and saved it (from v9). When I tried to open it again I received and error that it could not be opened. Anyone else experience this problem?

Try opening v9 then open the file.

Oddly enough it only seems to happen on larger files. I can open, save, close AND reopen smaller files. Just not larger ones.

One of the files is 18,149 K. It works fine with a file of 4,563 K.

Just opened a 54.9MB file no problem. It's the biggest I have.

So what was the problem or did it just suddenly start working on it's ownTerryT wrote:It's working. Thanks for the assistance.
Always nice to know what people did to fix a problem just incase it is something you come across in the future

Been happening to me alot also. I had to reboot my computer today on one I was working on to get it to open. Wouldn't open form Aspire, file manager or directly in windows.

Re: v9 won't open a project after it has been saved
Could you describe a bit more what the issue was? Any error messages, etc.. I'm afraid we don't use much to go by from the descriptions at the moment in case there is a genuine issue with the software or if it's something else specific to the machine/OS
Thank you
Thank you

I will post a screen show of the window that pops up if it happens again.

Re: v9 won't open a project after it has been saved
If it's an error code 1 and it's a large file it may be that it is still being written to disc, checked by the AV, backed up etc.
I used to use a real time file versioning system with Aspire and I would often get an error if I tried to open the file again straight after saving because the versioning software needed a few seconds of exclusive access to the file to process changes.

I have had that problem quite often. I use Google Drive to keep my files backed up and when Google has the file open for backup it will not allow access. Sometimes it doesn't release the file and the problem persists. Try copying the file to a location that is not in the backup path and open it from the new location.

Re: v9 won't open a project after it has been saved
I'm not entirely sure what the fix was. I downloaded V9 from the portal. As I said, if I opened an 18,000plus K file in V9 and then saved it. V9 would not open it again. I was thinking maybe it was only happening on my computer so I loaded my v9 on my wife's computer and it did the same thing.
Long story short, I went back to the portal to reinstall it and now it works fine. I did notice, however, that the first time I downloaded and installed v 9.07 and the second time it was v 9.09. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
